Please write an objection against the Libertas rezoning and urban development
It is now a very good time to write as many individual objections as possible, as sufficient information is available and the time for objections (up to 21 June 2023) urges us to act. Although it may feel like a daunting task, there are many resources available, starting with your and my personal experience and our reasons for resisting the application for rezoning. A document of objection need not be written in legal language, but will have a major impact if it clearly describes the negative impacts of the development plans, the way these contradict the policy statements of our municipality and what alternatives to the plans you suggest.
Apart from the public meeting we had, further relevant information and useful examples have been made available on the website of the BBG https://boord.co.za/ The objections from Fleurbaai and Patrysvlei are especially valuable as background for individual and group objections. In addition, look at the excerpt from the current Stellenbosch Integrated Development Plan (4.8.2) to see the discrepancies.
